Ric's Fight against GBM

 In August of 2020 Ric went to the ER with major headaches and tiredness.  He was immediately rushed to an ICU hospital and with in 24 hours we had him transferred so that he was under the care of The Hospital of The University of Pennsylvania.  Ric was diagnosed with a MGMT unmethylated front rightal lobe Glioblastoma tumor. 

Ric had his first craniotomy on August 12th 2020.  Shortly after, he underwent 6 weeks of radiation treatments along with a new trial chemo.  Unfortunately after just three short months in February his tumor showed growth.  

He started a new trial immunotherapy after completing two rounds of cyber knife radiation. Ric fought so hard his entire prognosis. Blood work and infusions every two weeks. Spending most of his time back and forth to the hospital fighting for his life .   Without much notice Ric went back into the hospital for symptoms of growth where he then underwent a second craniotomy. Unfortunately, this turn around wasn't like his first surgery.  

Our beloved father Richard Knasel passed away early in October of 2021.
